Tempest earns her first 2 points thanks to Judge Dana Cline Handled by Debbie Foust at the Eugene Kennel Club show in Brownsville, OR These Richie daughters are headed to their new homes. Petunia is going to be a loving pet, and Sheena is Wysteria Havanese next show prospect... SO EXCITED!! Hi Everyone,
The OTHC (Oregon Trail Havanese Club) is having a meeting and pot luck at the St Helens show on August 30th. This is open not only to current members, but also pet owners may attend as guests to learn more about the club. You do not have to 'show' your havanese to join and be an active member and support our wonderful breed. Hi Donna
I just wanted to update you on our precious Liberty Belle! She is doing terrific. She is growing fast, a little over 10 lbs now. Like you said she my not get much taller, but boy she is a little tank. She keeps up with our Lab Sophie running, playing taking walk abouts in the woods. Yesterday, Bernie took them for a little walk and they both came back soaking wet. The bushes were really wet from some thunderstorms that had come through. Speaking of wet.....I don't know if you remember that when we were there you brought some water out for the puppies and she just crawled into the container. Well we have a little plastic kiddie pool on the deck, supposedly for Sophie (the water dog) to cool off in. Well, Libby LOVES it! She jumps in, roots around with her head under water, jumps out and runs like a crazy girl around the deck and back into the pool. If we are inside watching TV or something she will even go take a dip herself! Crazy! Sophie, on the other hand, doesn't much like it -- its not deep enough. She is pretty much completely housebroken. We have cowbells on the front door that the dogs ring to go outside. She picked up using the bells from Sophie very early; however she thinks that should work for food, attention, play, etc. She did actually ring to go out once. So, just want you to know we absolutely made the right choice. We love her very much -- she's very sweet and keeps us laughing. Yes, almost a full year old! He is awesome, all going great with him, the happiest dog in the world we think:)!!!!! We're doing good. He's still a sleepy puppy - here's the latest...so darn cute!! I'm still working on getting him comfortable when I'm not near, but he is getting better. Puppy class has just started and he's learned sit and down. He's smallest but he still had fun chasing/being chased/playing (they did separate the bigger from the smaller pups for socializing). He's just beginning to walk on a leash outside now that he's had his last shots but we don't get very far (too many good smells to explore). I found a nice small dog off-leash fenced park near by which is good for him to run and burn off some energy after all that napping! I'm just loving the little guy.
